I believe your interest is fueled by your desire to have a better lifestyle and you may be here to seek inspiration, like I always do when reading other fitness blogs. Otherwise you are just one of those curious cats. In either case, I feel obliged to speak about me a little, so that you can appreciate what I am doing here, rather what YOU are doing here. The gist of the story of my life goes like this...
I am an Indian girl, who was born and brought up in the Philippines. I am a proud vegetarian and a fitness enthusiast for a couple of years now.
How is a girl supposed to prioritize fitness with so much going on?
Disclaimer: I am neither an authority on fitness nor am I a professional in the area of nutrition. I am a mere responsible citizen and maybe a good person who just wants to share the joys of healthy and happy living with a lot of random quirky fun on the side ;)
Fat girl gets super-fit... Fit girl let's go of herself.... Fat girl wants to get fit again
Nothing extraordinary, I know.
Let's rewind a bit back into my life now.
I am an Indian girl, who was born and brought up in the Philippines. I am a proud vegetarian and a fitness enthusiast for a couple of years now.
I grew up as 'the' fat girl in class. I was never slim, except for that 1 year I spent in a hostel. I was surprisingly very comfortable in my own skin. I did not mind being fat. I did not mind wearing only boyish clothes (at that time plus size was just a concept). I did not mind being stereotyped as the one who eats-a-lot. Because I was never slim or fit to miss it. My notion of both was entirely based on what I saw on TV or around me. In fact, there was no major hype about being size zero while I was growing up.
The AHA moment came for me when I reached 95 kg. It is quite embarrassing to admit it now but this was in 2008. I looked so huge in my graduation picture. I actually remember just crying when I saw it, when I was supposed to be happy for graduating at the top of my class. That definitely made me unhappy about my weight and appearance.
I took a year off to take the fat off. And it worked. I focused so much that I actually lost half my weight. I was down to just 50kgs at a 5'5" height. It was the thinnest I had ever been in my adult life in my whole life. The best compliment was that people I knew from before, including relatives and friends, could not recognize me. Amazing, right?
However, in all that buzz I got complacent! Biggest mistake. Trust me! And then I just piled on the weight over 3 years of getting back to my comfort zone where there was a lot of lazy afternoons with pizzas and sodas and even a candid introduction to booze. The second AHA moment then came just a few months ago. Well, it was a picture again. Actually loads of them. I studied a semester in France and that was where I put on most of the excess noticeable weight. It was the food and the lifestyle I guess. When I go through most of the pictures from the trip, I am reminded of that old me that I thought I had left behind long ago.
Many girls fall off the wagon and they have the usual things to blame.

Well she does it with a blog. Duhh!
So here I am now with the intention to regain and possibly surpass my last great feat at getting fit. The best thing is now I have an actual memory of the What and the Why! This serves as the most definitive inspiration that motivates me.
While I take on this project, I will write about all that I had done or will do to get in shape so that you and I can evaluate what works for me and what does not. Also, I will post about other stuff going on in my life, that are just part of fun healthy living.
Comments, suggestions, critiques and props would be highly appreciated :)
